————————–———————-
Sonic explorers, The Kryptonite Sparks are part of the new wave of Romanian rock (post 2010); an incandescent power-trio, an eclectic mixture of hard rock, indie, alternative, funk, avant-prog and pop-rock resembling the likes of Cream, Arctic Monkeys, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd.
Having graduated from The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London, the band was born as a post-uni work-out, when the two brothers returned in Romania in 2013.
With good vibes, great hopes and new ideas, they are heavily influenced by UK’s 70s vibe, to which they add grooves delivered with a strong and heavy hand. A few drops of modernism and symbolism extracted from the indie subculture, with a hot avant-garde aftertaste complete the final touches that represent The Kryptonite Sparks.
Careful, it may contain traces of pop!

Their eponymous first EP launched in 2013 was well received, with generous feedback and critical acclaim. In 2014 they joined the biggest alternative rock band in Romania, Vita de Vie, in their national tour. For their musical activity they received the Metalhead “Best Alternative Newcomer” prize. 2015 saw the arrival of “Esti”, the first commercial single taken off their upcoming second EP.
In 2016 The Kryptonite Sparks sign with Universal Music Romania and launch their 2nd discographic material: “2 // The Second Wave of Cosmic Noise”, produced by Adrian Despot. The songs quickly become successful, and are broadcasted by radios such as RFI, Smart FM, Radio Trib, Definite Rock. In february 2016 they release the music video for “Si Golanii Beau Ceai”, the 2nd single off the EP which also quickly makes its way into heavy rotation on radio TANANANA.
